GLASGOW City are back on top of SWPL 1 following a hard fought 3-1 win over Partick Thistle at Petershill Park.

They lead on goal difference from Celtic, with both sides having ten points from four games.

Striker London Pollard, who is on loan from Celtic, put Thistle ahead after ten minutes.

City full back Cailin Michie scored on the half hour and again 30 minutes into the second half, with Priscila Chinchilla adding the third from the penalty spot five minutes from time.

Celtic enjoyed a 4-0 win over Motherwell at the Penny Cars Stadium There were also wins for Rangers and Hibernian.

The record attendance for a domestic Scottish match was obliterated at Easter Road, where 5512 fans took advantage of the home club making 6000 free tickets available for the Edinburgh derby against Hearts.

The previous best was the 3123 who paid to watch City beat Hibs in the 2019 Scottish Cup final at Tynecastle.

Hibs gave the new record crowd a quick return when they went ahead after six minutes through Alexa Coyle. The home side added two more late in the second half through Rachael Boyle, whose husband Martin is the SPFL's top scorer, and substitute Eilidh Adams.

Celtic also scored early, through Charlie Wellings and the same player made it 2-0 at half time. An own goal and a fourth from Clarissa Larisey completed the scoring against the bottom club.

Rangers had the biggest win of the night, beating Spartans 6-1. They are the only side with a 100 per cent record but have played a game less than the other title contenders.
