It will mark the first announcement in over two weeks as MSPs enjoyed their break from chamber meetings.
With less than a week to go before the start of COP26, the first minister is expected to touch on the anticipated rise in Covid cases following the climate conference.
Cases in Scotland have recently plateaued following a sustained period of high figures towards the end of the summer, but the influx of around 30,000 people attending COP26 starting on Sunday October 31 could change this.
Those attending are not required to be fully vaccinated, although it is strongly advised.
Instead, delegates should take daily lateral flow tests.

Ahead of COP26, she is expected to touch on mitigation measures in Scotland both during and following the conference.
We may also learn more about Scotland's winter plans for dealing with Covid, as reports highlight the potential for hospitals to be overrun.
