A Scottish pensioner is fighting for his life while two others have been left in a serious condition in hospital following a road crash in Edinburgh.

Police were called to the incident which happened on the capital’s busy Seafield Road on Sunday, October 24 at around 4.15pm after a Nissan Juke and a Volvo V40 crashed.

The 85-year-old female driver of the Volvo and her 87-year-old male passenger were taken to hospital along with the 32-year-old male driver of the Nissan.

The 87-year-old man is described as being in a critical condition, while the 85-year-old female driver, and 32-year-old male driver are both in serious but stable conditions.

Police have urged any witnesses or those with dashcam footage to come forward. 

Sergeant Iain McIntyre of the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Dalkeith is appealing for any witnesses to the crash, or anyone with dash-cam footage to contact 101 quoting reference number 2518 of 24 October.
