THE DEATH toll due to Covid-19 in Scotland as it's highest daily total since February. 

Scottish Government figures have recorded 33 deaths in the past 24 hours. 

The last time the daily death rate was that high was on February 19 with 44 deaths recorded. 

A total of 2,823 new cases of Covid-19 have been registered in the last day.

With today's figures included, the total death toll according to the measure used by the Scottish Government stands at 9,242.

Separate figures produced by National Records of Scotland (NRS) which record the number of deaths where Covid was mentioned on a death certificate, put the figure at 11,672 as of October 31.

NRS figures include deaths where “suspected” or “probable” Covid-19 appears on the death certificate.

Of the 43,649 new tests for Covid-19 carried out which reported results in the past 24 hours – 7.2 per cent were positive.

A total of 63 people are currently being treated in intensive care with a confirmed case of Covid-19, with 896 in hospital overall.

The total number of first vaccinations given is 4,321,770 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination and 3,911,823 have received their second dose.

However, vaccination data for today is not yet available.
