Glass and pieces of metal have been left strewn across a city centre road in Glasgow this morning after a late-night crash.

A parking meter has been removed from St Vincent Street after a orange car smashed into it last night at around 10.30pm.

The stretch of road between West Campbell Street and Blythswood Street was quickly closed by emergency services, with a police diversion put in place.

A video seen by The Herald shows the front of the car badly damaged as a result of the smash.

Pictures from the scene this morning show orange cones erected where the parking meter once stood.

A green substance has been scattered over the crash site.

It is not yet known if anyone was injured.

The Herald has approached police for comment.
