Brian Cox reprised the role of Logan Roy in Succession to send Boris Johnson a scathing message.

The Dundee-born actor, 75, appeared on Jeremy Vine on Friday, February 4.

Cox, who plays the media tycoon Logan Roy on the HBO series, featured on Channel 5's show Talking Telly section - as himself.

But, the political actor couldn't resist reprising the role to send his video message to the Prime Minister.

The Emmy award winner said in the clip: "Listen, Boris. I think you really need psychiatric help.

"You're a compulsive liar and a country does not need a compulsive liar running the show, so if I was you, I would [blank] off, OK?"

Viewers were left divided by the video stunt with many taking to Twitter to share their opinions.

Some viewers disliked the clip, complaining that the video went too far.

One viewer posted: "Vine has gone too far now. This is relentless. He's definitely on a mission. So biased it's embarrassing."

While another wrote: "If I could be bothered to complain- this would be the time, this is too far."

However, others enjoyed it and also shared their thoughts on the platform.

One user commented: "Brilliant! Love it, love him!!," with a heart emoji.

And another said: "Brian. Great message and very true. Love your show btw."

Cox is set to return for Succession's upcoming fourth season but we don't have a confirmed release date yet.

Jeremy Vine airs on Channel 4 on weekdays at 9.15 am.
