Emergency crews spent two days tackling a major wildfire in the Scottish Highlands. 

Lochalsh and South West Ross community fire station captured these dramatic images of a rapidly spreading fire in Kyle.  
The Herald:
Crews from Skye, Lochalsh, Wester Ross and Lochaber were involved as well as on call voluntary firefighters who were released by employers to assist.
The Herald:
Multiple appliances were dispatched to protect surrounding homes and monitor the fire overnight on Thursday. 

The Herald:  
Warnings about an extreme wildfire risk were issued on April 22 covering North, Central and West Scotland.

Kyle fire service said all bases involved in the major incident were looking for new recruits.
