PLATFORM Glasgow, the eating, drinking, and events space based under the Hielanman’s Umbrella in Glasgow, has changed hands.

The destination in the vaulted space beneath Central Station, formerly home to famous nightclub The Arches, has been acquired by Camm & Hooper, the London-based events management company.

The deal marks Camm & Hooper’s first venture north of the Border and its first outside its native London.

Derick Martin, the Scottish chief executive of Camm & Hooper, said: “We're thrilled to incorporate such an iconic and versatile venue into our portfolio. This feels like a homecoming, and we're excited to infuse our unique touch into the wide array of events at Platform.”

Platform Glasgow spans six restored arches across 35,000 square feet, providing a flexible capacity for up to 600 seated guests across three arches or 1,800 standing. It has hosted a variety of events, from private gatherings to large-scale events.

Further to its acquisition, the venue will continue to be led by managing director Scott McCormick and his team.

Mr McCormick said: "We are excited to embark on this new chapter with Camm & Hooper. Their reputation for excellence and commitment to creating unique experiences aligns with our vision for Platform to establish itself as a leading venue delivering unique events for our blue-chip client base.

“Platform looks forward to hosting an even wider range of diverse and memorable events in the heart of Glasgow, and it is our intention to grow the portfolio in Scotland over the next three years, and I am delighted to support Derick in his plans for the growth of the Camm & Hooper Brand."

Mr Martin added: “Scott has built an incredible brand and venue and I know we will become a real events disrupter in Glasgow and beyond.”
