A man has died following a two-vehicle crash in Caithness.

Kevin Campbell, 47, was driving a black Mazda 2 which was involved in a collision with a blue Seat Ateca at around 9.50am on Sunday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash which happened on the B876 at Kirk.

The driver of the Seat, a 47-year-old man, was taken to Caithness General Hospital and released following treatment for a minor injury while the passenger, a 17-year-old male, was not injured.

Police are appealing for information about the collision which happened near the junction with the B870.

Sergeant Calum MacAulay said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and his family have asked for privacy.

“Our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and has information that could assist to get in touch.

“In particular, if you have dashcam footage that could assist with our investigation then please contact officers.”
