A number of properties have been evacuated in a Scots town after a van struck a house.

The incident took place on Overton Mains, Kirkcaldy on Tuesday evening.

Fife Police posted on social media to advise that Spey Road is closed, with local diversions in place.

Emergency services are currently in attendance alongside the utility company, the force added.

There are no reports of any injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Spey Avenue in Kirkcaldy has been closed after a van struck a house on Overton Mains, this afternoon.

"Several properties have been evacuated as a precaution. There are no reports of any injuries. Emergency services and the utility company are in attendance.

"Local diversions are in place."
