Police are investigating reports of a laser beam being directed at the cockpit of an aircraft as it approached a Scots airport.

The incident reportedly took place as the plane was coming into land at Inverness Airport on Thursday around 3am.

Beaming laser devices into cockpits can temporarily blind pilots, even if they are flying at thousands of feet off the ground.
