A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 5.56am on Friday, 26 April to reports of a fire affecting a tenement flat on Polwarth Street in the Hyndland area of Glasgow.

"Operations Control mobilised four appliances and a high reach vehicle to the scene, where crews remain in attendance."

Scotrail said on social media that due to the nearby emergency trains passing through Hyndland station could be subject to "alteration and cancellation," and urged travellers to plan ahead.
