A Scottish gin made by Aldi has been awarded a gold award at The World Drinks Awards 2025.
Còmhla Scottish Gin was also named Best in Country at the awards, which selects and promotes the world’s best drinks to consumers and trade around the world.
The Aldi Scotland gin is priced at £19.99 for a 70cl bottle and beat off a host of pricier gins to pick up the prize in its category.
It has been sold in Aldi stores since the end of 2023 and was praised for its ‘aromatic nose’ and ‘notably fresh profile’ which comes from a blend of botanicals such as dandelion and bog myrtle.
The supermarket’s gin range has won eight medals at drinks competitions in the last 12 months, with the Còmhla gin also taking gold at the Spirits Business Awards in 2024.
