Supermarket chain Aldi is to open two new Scottish stores and extend five others as part of a £43m investment.
The German grocery giant, which operates 109 stores in Scotland, announced that new shops would open in Bishopbriggs and Dumbarton next year, and said that existing sites in Greenock, Perth, Linlithgow, Paisley and Stirling would be extended.
The extensions will increase space for chilled food and provide additional room for the Specialbuys, health and beauty and bakery sections.
According to Worldpanel data, the chain, now ranked as Scotland's second largest by volume, saw 60 million trips across 2025.
Sandy Mitchell, regional managing director for Aldi Scotland, said 2025 had been “another outstanding year” for the firm.
He said: “We’ve continued to strengthen our investment across the country, welcoming more customers than ever before to our Scottish stores and providing greater access to affordable groceries.
“Our ongoing commitment to Scottish provenance and our close relationships with local suppliers remain at the heart of our success.

The firm partners with 90 Scottish suppliers and stocks more than 450 Scottish products.
Aldi was recently commended at the Scotland Food and Drink Awards, being awarded ‘Best for Scottish Sourcing’ for the fourth time.
