M90 roadwork closures near Queensferry Crossing in Fife expanded

Previously, the works were set to end at Junction 1C Admiralty. 

Beginning on 14 January, all northbound lanes between Junctions 1B and 2 will close overnight from Monday to Friday.

The road will be shut between 20:00 pm and 6:00 am on weeknights, before reopening on Saturday 7 February. 

Northbound traffic on the M90 will be diverted via Milne Road, Millenium Avenue, Castle Road, Kings Road, Pitreavie Roundabout and the A823(M).

This will add approximately 9 minutes to affected journeys.

Additionally, a continuous closure of the Junction 1C northbound slip road will be in place between 6:00 am on Tuesday 3 February until 6:00 am on Friday, 6 February. 

When the M90 northbound is open during daytime hours, traffic seeking to exit at Junction 1C will be diverted to exit at Junction 2.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements on the M90 will address and repair defects in the road surface such as potholes and cracks, creating safer and smoother journeys for motorists. 

“It is essential for safety that we close the carriageway during these works.

Deans added: "We’ve scheduled works on the main carriageway to be carried out during overnight hours to minimise any disruption, however due to the depth of construction required on the Junction 1C northbound off-slip, these works require a continuous day and night closure. 

“If you need to use this route during the works, please plan ahead and allow extra time for the diversion.
