A garden centre which has served the community for more than three decades has closed due to “crippling” rising costs, as the family behind the business say the decision has left them “absolutely heartbroken”.
Strawberry Corner Garden Centre is now in liquidation after 32 years in Wallyford, as a post on the business’s social media shared the update today “with great sadness”.
It notes that “rising costs have been crippling” since the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the impact of “constant roadworks in the local area” which have reduced footfall “dramatically”.
Billy Bussell and his late brother Alan opened the doors of the garden centre in May 1994 and it has remained in the family ever since.
