A Scottish construction and property maintenance specialist has been acquired by a Welsh company.
Cardiff-based Cardo Group, which announced the purchase yesterday, views the deal as further strengthening its expansion in Scotland and also flagged a resultant boost to its presence in the north of England.
It believes its acquisition of Glasgow-based Trident Maintenance Services, which has been employee-owned, enables it to enter a "new stage" of growth.
Trident provides maintenance services to public and private sector clients.
The deal comes hard on the heels of Cardo's acquisition of Paisley-based roofing business Faskin, which was announced on January 6.
Cardo has offices across England and South Wales and has more than 950 skilled operatives and specialists.
Legal and professional services business Knights, which advised Cardo on the Trident deal, said: “The acquisition will ensure a strong local presence while providing Trident Maintenance Services with additional resources, operational support and integrated infrastructure available from within the Cardo Group.”
Liam Bevan, chief executive of Cardo Group, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Trident Maintenance Services.
“It expands our national capabilities, particularly in the north of England, and enhances our offering across Scotland while supporting our long-term strategy of investment in skilled local workforces and supply chains.”
