Motorists were warned to expect delays during a peak commuting period after a section of one of Scotland’s busiest motorways was closed due to a police incident in the early hours of the morning.
Traffic Scotland said Junction 7 near Haggs was closed to southbound traffic, following the incident at around 2:30am.
Police said they were at the scene due to "concern for a person".
The motorway was shut in both directions for more than three hours while emergency services attended, before the restriction was cut to a single lane.
