Man rushed to hospital after serious Saltcoats assault

A man was rushed to hospital after being seriously assaulted in a North Ayrshire town.

The man was attacked on Old Raise Road in Saltcoats between 1pm and 2pm on Saturday. 

Emergency services attended the scene and subsequently took the man, 33, to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment.

The male suspect is described as between 30 and 35 years old, with brown hair. 

He was wearing dark trousers and a green jacket.

Detective Constable Fraser Barr said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or saw a man matching the description in the area to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash cam or private CCTV that could assist to get in touch.”
