A group of young people has taken the lead in organising a community festival, gaining hands-on experience in event planning.
Ten teenagers aged 14 to 18 from north Edinburgh have spent the past six months preparing a community event as part of the Festival Futures programme.
The scheme, run in partnership with Tinderbox Collective and The North Edinburgh Community Festival, aims to give young people practical experience in festival planning.
Their work will culminate in a launch event at the West Pilton Neighbourhood Centre on Saturday, March 28, from 12pm to 2pm.
The event will feature live music from emerging performers, alongside community stalls, food, games and sports activities.
Adele Conn, festival director at North Edinburgh Community Festival, said: "I’m incredibly proud of the young people in our Festival Futures programme.
"Their creativity, commitment and professionalism over the last six months have been nothing short of inspiring.
"Seeing them lead the launch with such confidence and pride is a real joy, and they should feel immensely proud of what they’ve achieved."

Acts will include the North Edinburgh Community Choir, which brings together around 100 singers from local schools.
The North Edinburgh Community Festival launch takes place on Saturday, March 28, 12-2pm at West Pilton Neighbourhood Centre and is free to attend.
The full festival will follow on Saturday, May 16 at West Pilton Park and the West Pilton Neighbourhood Centre.
