An Edinburgh Italian restaurant is extending its opening hours to seven days a week after reporting a sharp rise in demand.
Divino, in the heart of the city’s Old Town, said it would expand its trading week following a 35% rise in revenue over the past year.

The move comes after the restaurant said it had been operating at or near full capacity across its previous five trading days.
The extended opening hours are also expected to support growing demand for events and private dining bookings.
Alberto Crolla, director of the Vittoria Group, said: “In the current climate, we’re very aware that many hospitality businesses are facing difficult conditions, so we don’t take this growth for granted.
“The decision to extend our opening hours has really been driven by demand from our guests and the hard work of the team behind the scenes.”
The restaurant has also increased its workforce by 20%, creating new roles and extending hours for existing staff to meet rising footfall, particularly at weekends and during peak seasonal periods.

A further £30,000 has been invested in upgrading the Divino Suite, the venue’s enclosed and heated terrace space used for private dining and events.
The refurbishment includes a retractable roof and brings the space in line with the main dining room.
Divino said weekly covers have increased from 350 to more than 600, with growth seen throughout the week as well as at weekends.
The restaurant attributed part of the increase to midweek programming, including live jazz on Wednesdays and demand for corporate dinners.

Sunday trade has also strengthened, supported by free wine tasting sessions led by head sommelier Troy Sides.
Led by chef Simone Libanore, the restaurant’s menu includes dishes such as Roman carbonara and merlot-braised beef cheek.
Divino also said it offers one of Scotland’s most extensive wine lists, alongside a self-serve wine machine.
