A new luxury housing development has been launched on the outskirts of Edinburgh, bringing eight energy-efficient homes to Balerno.

Inveroe Steadings is located to the south-west of the capital and offers a small collection of countryside properties within reach of the city centre.

Developers said that the homes combine contemporary design with rural surroundings and have been built with a focus on energy efficiency and low running costs.

Each property is fitted with air source heat pumps, underfloor heating on the ground floor, and triple-glazed windows, alongside electric vehicle charging points.

Property developers added that the landscaping around the development has been designed to support biodiversity.

Darren Lee, director of property sales at Watermans, said: "This is a development offering high-end, luxury living, with energy efficiency at its forefront.

"These homes, although substantial in size, will essentially cost pennies to run."
