An Edinburgh brewery has won big at an international competition.

Cold Town Beer took home six medals at the London Beer Competition 2026, including the title of Indian Pale Ale of the Year for its Baltic IPA, which scored 96 points and earned a double gold medal.

The Baltic IPA is fermented at 15 degrees and the brewery describes it as a "spring smasher" with flavours of cut grass, pine forest, honeydew melon, and lemon peel.

Cold Town Beer also won two additional gold medals for its Robert the Juice IPA (93 points) and XPA (91 points).

It secured silver medals for Fest Bier (89 points), Doddie Beir (88 points), and Crisp Craft Lager (88 points).

The London Beer Competition, now in its ninth year, is recognised globally for its comprehensive judging criteria.

It evaluates beers not only on taste but also on value and packaging, factors that influence consumer buying decisions.

Judging took place in London, with a panel of beer buyers, bar owners, and industry experts blind-tasting entries from more than 20 countries.

Ian Kennedy, head of production at Cold Town Beer, said: "To have Baltic IPA named Indian Pale Ale of the Year is a massive achievement for us.

"It’s a beer we’ve hung our hat on for years as part of our core range and one that really represents what we stand for, quality, consistency, and great flavour, so to see it recognised with such a high score is something the whole team is incredibly proud of."
