Julian Clary is returning to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe after a 17-year absence.

The comedian will perform 10 shows at the Assembly Rooms' Music Hall with his new show Fully Dilated from August 14 to 23.

Mr Clary last appeared at the Fringe in 2009 in show, Lord of the Mince.

Mr Clary first rose to fame in the 1980s on the cabaret circuit as The Joan Collins Fan Club.

His TV credits include his own Channel 4 show Sticky Moments, winner of Celebrity Big Brother in 2012, and appearances on shows like Strictly Come Dancing, QI, and Have I Got News For You.

He is also a regular panellist on BBC Radio 4’s Just a Minute.

On stage, Mr Clary has starred in Boy George’s Taboo, the West End production of Cabaret, and Le Grand Mort at Trafalgar Studios.

He recently played Herod in the touring production of Jesus Christ Superstar, a role he will reprise at the London Palladium later this year.

Mr Clary: "I have decided to open up to the public and reveal all.

"No more hiding behind a stage persona – I’m going to be myself.

"The question is will you be able to tell the difference?

"In this show I will reveal intimate secrets of my life and share the traumas that have led me to lead the life of a camp comic and renowned homosexual."

Weekday tickets are priced at £18 and weekends at £20, with concessions available.

Tickets for Fully Dilated are now on sale.
