Scouting for Girls to headline Edinburgh Foodies Festival

Scouting for Girls and other acts are heading to Edinburgh this summer as Foodies Festival returns to the capital.

The UK touring food, drink and music festival will take place at Inverleith Park from August 7 to 9, featuring live music, celebrity chefs, street food and family entertainment.

The festival first launched in Edinburgh in 2005 and has since grown into one of the UK’s largest touring celebration of its kind.

A programme of cooking demonstrations will feature leading chefs and TV personalities, including Harry Maguire, Sophie Surgue and Sarah Rankin.

Other names confirmed include Jessika Trassell, Rohan Wadke and Jun Au.

Scottish food talent will also feature prominently, with appearances from chefs including Peter McKenna of Eleven Fifty Five, Barry Bryson of Barry Fish and Jack Montgomery from Michelin-recommended restaurant Argile.

Other music acts set to perform across the weekend include Boyzlife, Gareth Gates and the Symphonic Ibiza Orchestra.



Interactive experiences will include the festival’s popular chilli-eating competition, the new Ultimate Hot Wings Challenge and live Ready, Steady, Cook-style chef battles.

Visitors will also be able to attend drinks masterclasses covering Champagne, cocktails, cider and wine.

Family attractions include a Kids Cookery School, treasure hunt trail, fairground rides and games area.

Foodies Festival will later travel to Rouken Glen Park in Glasgow from August 14 to 16.
