A retail park is set to expand with a major new shopping and leisure development.
Fort Kinnaird could soon welcome more than 42,500 square feet of new space, including a food store and additional leisure facilities, under plans submitted for approval.
The proposed building would sit alongside the existing leisure and dining options, including an ODEON cinema, Wagamama, and Nando’s.
The ground floor would feature a 19,750-square-foot food store, while the first floor would offer 22,785 square feet of leisure space.
This latest proposal follows last year’s refurbishment of the Eastern Terrace, which upgraded more than 20,000 square feet of retail space and attracted new stores such as Lush, Rituals, and Clintons.
Fort Kinnaird already holds more than 560,000 square feet of retail and leisure space.
Sustainability is a key focus of the development.
The new building is designed to include air source heat pumps and solar photovoltaic systems to support lower-carbon operations and reduce energy use.
If approved, planning consent is expected in November 2026.
Construction would begin in January 2027, with completion targeted for January 2028.
Fort Kinnaird is co-owned by retail landlord British Land, which recently also submitted a 60,000-square-foot retail and leisure expansion at Glasgow Fort.
