A woman has been taken to hospital and treated for burns after a power bank exploded in a cinema.
The Cineworld in Union Square, Aberdeen, was evacuated amid the incident as four fire appliances and a specialist height appliance were called to the scene on Saturday night.
They were called after a power bank exploded and caught fire, leading to the woman being taken to hospital after being treated at the scene for minor injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.55pm on Saturday, July 4, 2026, police were called to attend the Guild Street area of Aberdeen after a report of a small battery pack exploding within a premises.
“The premises was evacuated as a precaution and there was no wider risk to the public.
“A woman later attended hospital for treatment to minor injuries.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called out to Cineworld in Union Square at around 7.54pm on July 4 for a power bank that caught on fire.
“We sent four appliances and a height appliance to the seat. We left at 8.25pm. One female casualty was treated for burns by the Scottish Ambulance Service.”
