Dads and father figures in Aberdeen have been learning how to style their daughters' hair at a viral event that has spread across the UK and beyond.

Pints & Ponytails recently made its Aberdeen debut at Bloom Lifestyle Salon, giving attendees the chance to practise practical hairstyling techniques in a relaxed and father-friendly setting.

The event was brought to the city by alcohol-free bar SOBR and sponsored by Jump Ship Brewing.

The concept was created by London podcasters Mathew Carter and Lawrence Price, hosts of Secret Life of Dads (SLOD), to help fathers feel more confident when styling their daughters' hair.

It has since grown into an international event, with sessions taking place across the UK, Ireland and the US.

The Aberdeen event sold out, with dads, grandads, uncles and family friends taking part.

Attendees practised hairstyles on professional hairdresser mannequin heads while enjoying alcohol-free beer and IPA from Jump Ship Brewing.

10% of profits from the event were donated to SOBR's adopted charity, Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH).

Organisers said the event was designed to combine practical skills with fun, support and community in an inclusive environment.

SOBR is Scotland's first standalone alcohol-free bar and is based on Thistle Street in Aberdeen.

Kate Kenyon, owner and founder of SOBR, said: "It was exciting to bring our version of Pints & Ponytails to Aberdeen.

"It sold out and was a huge success."

"A relaxed afternoon of fun, support, and community in a safe and inclusive space.

"That's exactly what it was.

"We had dads, we had grandads, we had uncles and family friends come along.

"All were very relaxed and had fun styling professional hairdresser mannequin heads whilst enjoying a Jump Ship Beer or IPA.

"Now they can turn their hand to creating simple, practical hairstyles for the little girls in their lives.

"SAMH is our adopted charity, and so it was fantastic to help them out.

"We're looking to provide support and collaboration to SAMH in a number of ways in the coming months."
