Users across the UK (and worldwide) are still having issues with the Sony PlayStation network, more than four hours after problems were first flagged.
Thousands of people have reported issues with the PlayStation network on Downdetector today (Friday, July 24).
Around 52% of complaints are to do with the server connection, while 28% said the problem was with logging in.
User reports indicate problems with Playstation Network since 7:08 AM EDT.

One person on Downdetector commented: "What happened with PlayStation every time is going down."
Another added: "This is why we cannot go full digital on games, as soon as there's a hiccup on the internet all games are unplayable!"
A third user said: "NEVER USING THIS STUPID THING AGAIN."
PlayStation users have also taken to social media to comment about the issues.
This person, posting on X (formerly Twitter), said: "PlayStation is Down Worldwide."
A second user wrote: "Where you at, @PlayStation? Outages are completely unacceptable in this dystopian digital future you are forcing upon us."
Another said: "PlayStation Network has been down OVER 4 hours today so far: Sony has reported difficulty launching games, trouble signing in, and more."

What is Downdetector?
Downdetector is an online website that allows users of popular services, including X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, Virgin Media, and more, to report if they are having trouble with the services.
The site only reports an incident when the number of problem reports is significantly higher than the typical volume for that time of day.
Describing itself on its website, Downdetector is “where people go when services don’t work.”
The website monitors disruptions to various key services including the internet, web hosting platforms, banks, social media and more.

In short, users can get involved by submitting any issue reports on the platform.
Problem indicators are also collected from social media and other factors on the web, Downdetector explained.
These reports are then validated and analysed in real-time.

An incident is then detected if the number of reports is significantly higher than the typical average for that particular service.
When a user goes to investigate the issue, they can see what the most reported problems are currently and check if their areas are in one of the outage hotspots.
