I FIND myself having to agree with Danny Alexander about the installation of average speed cameras on the A9 ("Alexander rejects A9 cameras", The Herald, January 24).

I wrote a letter to our Transport Minister, Keith Brown, last year pointing out that speed is not the cause of accidents on the A9 - driver confusion and frustration are. I received a standard acknowledgement promising a response. None has been forthcoming.

Do any of the people behind this scheme actually drive the A9? The whole thing is a waste of time and money.
