I NOTE your article on "The 10 spookiest places to visit across Scotland" (Herald Magazine, October 23) and place No 3 in particular, Glasgow Necropolis.

The Gorbals Vampire story quoted has no connection with Glasgow Necropolis, it was the Southern Necropolis. Glasgow Necropolis should not even be included in your list as a spooky place to visit particularly when you associate the information with the website of The Friends of Glasgow Necropolis, www.glasgownecropolis.org.

The Friends have never found anything spooky in Glasgow Necropolis and in fact people are not allowed into Glasgow Necropolis at night. This is still a working cemetery and night visiting should not be encouraged by The Herald.

Deputy Chairman, The Friends of Glasgow Necropolis,
