FURTHER to recent reports from your correspondents detailing the disturbing, aberrant and indeed, as I believe, suspicious behaviour of their wheelie bins, I think it is time for the public to face the reality behind the apparently random incidents that have caused such widespread anxiety (Letters, December 1, 4&7 ).

The Government and its agencies, in an effort to dampen down public concern and avoid panic, have too long denied as fanciful, what have been categorised as conspiracy theories of alien involvement. It is becoming ever clearer that these theories must now be recognised as fact and that these apparently innocuous domestic objects are in reality not “bins” but Pods, designed to capture examples of human beings and transport them to another planet.

The alarming incidents in which your correspondents have been involved is surely evidence enough that that the “bins” are under the control of sentient beings; and it is no coincidence that they have recently become “activated” following the recent “invasion” of Martian air space by the Mars Lander.

It is with some relief that we hear of the brave escape of Thelma Edwards from imminent transportation. She would have been a great loss to the Letters Pages. On the other hand, she would have been an excellent, if involuntary, ambassador for us earthlings in representing the more civilised section of the population of our troubled planet.

IN these difficult and uncertain times it is cheering to read the humorous contributions from R Russell Smith and Thelma Edwards, particularly her latest escapade with her bin.
