CATRIONA Stewart, in her column on gender issues (“Gender issues are more complicated than equal play”, The Herald, December 14), complains about gender stereotyping in general, and women being portrayed as unable to reverse-park.

The only example I can remember on television of someone unable to reverse park is Reginald Molehusband, in a government public information film.

The only such film featuring a woman that I can remember is one which urged people driving automatic cars to apply the handbrake when waiting at a junction. I believe the car was white, not pink.

Can Ms Stewart provide an example to support her complaint, that women are routinely portrayed demonstrating their lack of 3D spatial awareness?
