The Cop26 news conference has been cancelled as talks go to the wire.

President of Cop Alok Sharma was due to hold a news conference at 5pm, but it has been revealed that it is cancelled.

Although the summit is due to end today it is not clear when that will happen.

Sharma has been hosting a plenary session all afternoon but talks don't look like they are coming to a resolution yet.

Mr Sharma told Sky News: "I think you've heard in the room, people do want an outcome.

"But there are still some critical issues that are outstanding. There's a lot of hard work to do."

Tensions are tight in Glasgow and hundreds of activists have walked out of COP26 branding it a failure as police thwarted two protesters who tried to break in.
