Terry Butcher, the Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager, has accepted he will be working under even tighter financial restrictions next season.

Despite the five-strong Muirfield Mills consortium ploughing £250,000 into the club in March in exchange for a shareholding, Inverness – like most other top-flight clubs – are having to reduce their budgets.

Butcher is facing a busy summer with 12 players coming to the end of their contracts, with Jonny Hayes a target for Aberdeen.

"My budget is being cut this year as are a lot of other club's as well, it's about juggling, plate-spinning and everything else," said Butcher, who has ruled out moves for David Clarkson and Ian Black.

"If we keep players, we keep them; we'll make them the best offer we can. Everyone wants to finish the season off with a bang and see the supporters away on the back of a win."
