FRAN SANDAZA remains a popular man in Perth it seems after Steve Lomas, the St Johnstone manager, admitted he would love to bring the Spaniard back to McDiarmid Park.

The striker rejected a pre-contract offer from Ally McCoist last season before Rangers plunged into administration and is yet to secure a club for next term.

"Fran was a huge asset last season with his goals and assists," said Lomas, "so we'd love to bring him back."

Lomas has already signed Inverness striker Gregory Tade and St Mirren's Nigel Hasselbaink but wants to add to his frontline options before the Europa League kicks off next month. "Fran knows the club, the area and the SPL," added Lomas, "but I wouldn't stake my house on getting him back." Sandaza has been linked with clubs in Greece, Cyprus and the Far East.
