Dundee could be on the verge of new ownership after receiving a considerable offer from a joint Scottish-USA consortium consisting of current majority shareholder Bill Colvin, director Steve Martin and Keyes Capital, a company in Austin, Texas.

Scot Gardiner, the Dens Park chief executive, has been working on the deal for a year and recently returned from Texas along with Martin as they aim to conclude the deal. The group aim to purchase 51% of the club mainly through buying currently unissued shares. Fans' ownership would be reduced to 25% and their representation on the board could be reduced from three members to one.

It is believed the American group also plan to buy back ownership of Dens Park from John Bennett after the former Dundee United director bought the ground three years ago.
