Scotland's women's sevens squad go into this weekend's FIRA Grand Prix event in Marbella in desperate need of a good showing to retain their spot for 2014.

Two weeks ago in Brive, the lack of sevens experience in the squad showed as they finished last of 12 teams. A significant improvement this weekend will be needed if they are to have a chance of a top 10 place overall.

Scott Forrest, the head coach, and the players trained last weekend and should have more of a structure and a physical edge to their game this time around. The same 12 players have been selected and Forrest said: "It gives us consistency and allows us to build on Brive. Structure was a big part of the five sessions we had last weekend. We also had a run-out against a men's team which worked out well."
