RANGERS shareholder Felix Magath is set to end speculation about any future role at Ibrox by accepting the job as Austria Vienna manager this week.

The former Bayern Munich, Hamburg and Fulham boss bought a one per cent share in Rangers this year and has twice been in Scotland for talks - the last time was in March with new owner Dave King.

Magath would previously not comment on his involvement with the Glasgow giants amid suggestions he had been sounded out for a future role 'upstairs' at Ibrox.

But he's now set to relaunch his managerial career with 24-times Austrian Bundesliga champions Austria Vienna, who had a disappointing campaign this year.

Vienna are expected to confirm the appointment of the 61-year-old this week.

President Wolfgang Katzian said: "We hope to have a coach in place for next season very shortly."

Magath has also managed Stuttgart, Nurnberg, Werder Bremen, Wolfsburg and Schalke 04.
