MOTHERWELL wing king Marvin Johnson has extended his deal at the club until 2018.
Brought in back in January from Kidderminster Harriers, the Englishman has turned out to be one of Ian Baraclough's star finds.
Johnson's electric pace has caught the eye since his arrival in Lanarkshire, and his goal and lung-bursting run and assist helped dismantle Rangers in the second leg of the Premiership play-off final.
He joins Joe Chalmers, Lionel Ainsworth, David Clarkson and Wes Fletcher after signing a contract with the Steelmen during the close season, and he admits it was an easy decision to pledge his future to Motherwell.
The 24-year-old said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my first six months at the club and when I was asked to extend it further, I had no hesitation.
"I really believe in the manager and what he wants the team to do, and if we can kick off the new campaign the way we finished the last, I am hopeful we can enjoy a good season.
"From my own personal point of view, I will keep working hard for the team and will try and create and score as many as possible whilst a Motherwell player.
"The fans have also been brilliant in my time so far, and if I can make them happy by continuing to give my best, that's exactly what i will do."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
