March 11 – Rangers confirm Pedro Caixinha is their new manager. The Portuguese coach signs a three year deal.
March 12 – Caixinha sits in the stands at Parkhead and watches Rangers, taken by caretaker Graeme Murty for the last time, come from behind against Celtic to earn a 1-1 draw.
March 18 – Rangers beat Hamilton 4-0 at Ibrox in Caixinha’s first game in charge.
April 1 – Rangers are held to a 1-1 draw at home by Motherwell.
April 5 – Caixinha’s side are held to a 0-0 draw by Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
April 9 – Two late Kenny Miller goals and a strike from Joe Dodoo clinch a 3-0 win over second-placed Aberdeen in a Ladbrokes Premiership match at Pittodrie.
Rangers confirm Jonatan Johansson, the former Finland internationalist and Ibrox striker, is to join Caixinha’s backroom staff as his “local” coach.
April 23 – Celtic beat Rangers 2-0 in the William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden.
April 27 – Caixinha hits out at the “lack of respect” shown to him in the aftermath of the Celtic defeat. “I’m a f****** tough guy,” he tells the media.
April 28 – Kenny Miller agrees a one year contract extension with the Ibrox club.
April 29 – Rangers concede five goals to Celtic at Ibrox for the first time ever as Brendan Rodgers’s side run out comfortable 5-1 winners.
May 7 – A Joe Garner goal in the fourth minute of injury-time secures a 2-1 win over Partick Thistle at Firhill and clinches a place in next season’s Europa League qualifying rounds.
May 9 - Clint Hill and Philippe Senderos are told they can both leave Rangers.
