Celtic resume hostilies on the frontline of the Europa League this week with a testing encounter with Valencia.

Fresh from a 5-0 romp against St Johnstone in the William Hill Scottish Cup on Sunday, Brendan Rodgers' team head into the two-legged tussle with the Spanish side in bouyant mood.

And the addition to the armoury of Oliver Burke has given the Celtic manager plenty to be optimistic about as the young Scot ran St Johnstone ragged with a display of pace and power that Rodgers hope can also be unleashed on Valencia.

"The speed he showed is frightening," said Rodgers of the on loan West Brom player.

Rangers and Kilmarnock will have to do it all again after a 0-0 stalemate at Rugby Park on Saturday.

And Scott Arfield reckons the Ibrox outfit missed the 'bullying' tactics of Alfredo Morelos as Steven Gerrard's men failed to break down Kilmarnock's strudy resolve.

Meanwhile, Youssouf Mulumbu has insisted he still has a future at Celtic despite being loaned out to Kilmarnock for the remainder of the season.

In his weekly column for Herald Sport, Tam McManus has his say on the Alan McGregor challenge that has caused a stir and says that "for years goalkeepers have had free rein to come out and smash outfield players without punishment."
