ALEX RAE insists Rangers must keep believing in the Premiership title race this term – because Helicopter Sunday is proof that anything can happen in the closing weeks of the campaign.
The midfielder was part of Alex McLeish’s Gers squad that won the SPL on the final day of the season with a dramatic victory at Easter Road as Celtic lost to Motherwell.
Now Steven Gerrard is aiming to clinch a title that would be just as significant for the Light Blue legions as he looks to end his first term in the dugout with two winner’s medals.

Rangers face Hibernian and Kilmarnock either side of their Scottish Cup quarter-final clash with Aberdeen in the coming days.
And Gerrard will then take his side to Parkhead for the third Old Firm showdown knowing that victory is imperative if the Gers are to kick-start their challenge.
Celtic are eight points clear at the top of the table but former Ibrox star Rae knows Gerrard and his players won’t be giving up hope just yet.
He said: “I think there is an outside chance. You have got an Old Firm game coming up at the end of this month.
“Obviously there are a few games before then, but if Rangers can get it back to five points then anything can happen.
“We were five points behind with four games to go. Anything can happen in football. The one thing from Celtic’s point of view, particularly at home, is they are lively, they don’t concede anything really.

“There has to be a big turnaround in fortune. As long as it’s mathematically possible you have got to think there’s a chance.
“It is clearly in Celtic’s hands. The fact there are two Old Firm games to go gives it a chance. But Rangers would have to do something that hasn’t been done in years – they would have to go to Parkhead in a few weeks and win.
“They would have to take care of the games before then as well. But Rangers have been quite impressive in the last few games, outwith the cup game.
“To score 14 goals in their last three league games is impressive. But you still have to keep pushing buttons. I don’t think Rangers can afford to drop any points between now and the Celtic game.”
