STEVEN Gerrard has been handed a one-match ban by the Scottish FA for comments he made in the aftermath of Sunday's Old Firm match.

Gerrard directed the offending comments towards referee Bobby Madden in what was a tempestuous derby on Sunday.

Alfredo Morelos was sent off during the match, while Andy Halliday received a second yelow after the full-time whistle.

Ryan Kent will also face disciplinary action after the winger appeared to strike Celtic captain Scott Brown in the face.

The Rangers manager has until tomorrow to respond to the charge, with a hearing scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 2.
