SCOTLAND are in line to face Bulgaria at Hampden in a Nations League semi-final play-off next year and then meet either Norway or Serbia in a showdown for a Euro 2020 spot.
The dust has settled from the latest round of qualifying fixtures with Scotland, as it stands, looking unlikely to qualify for an automatic spot for a Finals they will co-host.
But because they won their Nations League group last year, Steve Clarke's side are guaranteed a place in the play-offs in League C and will also have home advantage for the one-leg semi-finals.
That was expected to be against Finland, but because the Finns have started their qualifying campaign so well, the Scots are now due to host Bulgaria next March.

And the other two teams in the play-offs, at the moment, would be Norway and Serbia with the winner facing the victor of the Scotland v Bulgaria play-off, with the hosts to be decided by a draw.
The Bulgarians, who are managed by 1994 World Cup semi-finalist star Krasimir Balakov, are hardly in sparkling form and lost their June double-header 2-1 to Czech Republic and 3-2 at home to Kosovo.
They are 51st in the FIFA World Rankings - seven places behind Scotland.
But possible Finalists, Serbia would be a far tougher ask as they currently sit in 29th spot. Norway are ranked 50th.
