JOE ARIBO has put his trust in Rangers boss Steven Gerrard after he sold him on a switch to Ibrox.
The midfielder has become the seventh signing of the summer for the Light Blues and has joined up with Gerrard’s squad in Portugal after clinching a four-year deal.
Aribo helped Charlton earn promotion to the Championship last season as they beat Sunderland in a dramatic play-off final at Wembley.
And the Englishman reckons that experience will stand him in good stead as he looks to make an immediate impression with Rangers in the Europa League and Premiership.

Aribo told RangersTV: “It is basically a dream come true to play for a club the size of Rangers. I grew up watching them and I am buzzing to be here. I can’t wait to get going.
“[I chose Rangers because of] the size of the club, of course.
“But also the manager. I had a chat with him and he persuaded me and said this was the best place for me at the moment. I trusted him.
“I am quite dynamic, I can get up and down the pitch and get at players one v one and I can pick a pass and find the back of the net.
“My aim last season was to get ten goals and I achieved that. I want to be a goal scoring midfielder and I take pride and joy in scoring goals.
“They (Charlton) trusted me because I wasn’t playing for an Academy at the age of 18. They trusted me in bringing me in and developing me and they really helped me a lot.
“It was surreal [playing at Wembley]. There were so many fans and the atmosphere was bouncing.

“You couldn’t hear my team-mates next to me. It was the best football moment I have had so far.
“Yeah, definitely [that pressure will help me at Rangers].
“We went out there expecting to win and we had to win. That is how it is going to be playing at a club the size of Rangers, going out every week and having to perform and win games. It has got to be done.
“I can’t wait [for my debut]. It is just going to be bouncing and everyone is going to be buzzing.
“So I can’t wait to put on the shirt and get out there.”
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
