Ex-Hibs star John McGinn scored an incredible solo goal in a friendly for Aston Villa this afternoon.

The Scotland midfielder netted twice in a clash with Charlton Athletic as his side ran out comfortable 4-1 winners.

But it was his second goal of the afternoon that earned rave reviews after he robbed a defender of the ball on the right-flank.

In his usual bustling manner, McGinn danced his way past two defenders before rounding the keeper and smashing the ball home.

Villa fans lavished the former Celtic target with praise for the strike.

One said: “That goal is the most John McGinn thing I’ve ever seen.”

Another added: “It’s not just the goal it’s the determination to win that ball back, the determination to stay on his feet, it’s John McGinn.”

A third gushed: “Class goal.”

The popular central midfielder scored one other goal in the victory where Anwar El Ghazi and Andre Green also netted.
