Scottish duo Euan Walker and Sandy Scott have both been named in the GB&I Walker Cup team for September’s match with the USA at Hoylake.

Barassie man Walker has produced some fine performances in the showpiece occasions this season and was beaten on the last green of the Amateur Championship at Portmarnock before finishing runner-up again in the European Amateur Championship the following week.

Scott, the former Scottish Boys’ Strokeplay champion from Nairn, has been an impressive campaigner on the US college scene with a win and four other top-five finishes to his name. Scott was also on the international team that beat the USA in the Arnold Palmer Cup.
