GLASGOW WARRIORS head coach Dave Rennie is set to be announced as Michael Cheika's replacement as head coach of Australia, according to reports.

The Sydney Morning Herald are reporting that Rugby Australia officials have told potential new staff members that Rennie will become the Wallabies' new head coach, and have dubbed the move as a "worst-kept secret".

The same newspaper previously reported that director of rugby Scott Johnson had already told the squad that Rennie would be named in the wake of their World Cup quarter-final defeat to England.

Rennie has been in charge of the Warriors since 2017 and won two Super League titles with Chiefs before moving to Scotstoun.
