GARY MCALLISTER reckons Ibrox has become a fortress after Rangers reached the Europa League last 32.

The 1-1 draw with Young Boys on Thursday night was enough to clinch second spot in Group G behind Porto.

The Gers are unbeaten at home in two European campaigns and assistant manager McAllister said: “It would be nice to avoid the big hitters, but whoever we draw you are going to see another fantastic night at Ibrox, it’s a special place under the lights on a European night.

"I think it’s become something of a fortress again and that’s one of the big positives. I could read off a list of teams that came to Ibrox and won.

“That has changed. We have gained the respect of our domestic opponents and having progressed in Europe we now have a respect there too.”
